Chamravattom Kadavu / Eswaramangalam Kadavu
Before opening Chamravattam Bridge peoples was suppose to use Eswaramangalam Kadavu or Chamravattom Kadavu for traveling. There was only one Canoe (തോണി) and a boatman. The canoe will start from the Eswaramangalam ghat. Actually at the middle of the river from Chamravattam Kadavu is covered with huge amount of sand, so it was quite difficult to go with the canoe to destination part of the river. Both sides of ghat is too depth, so there was two canoe. People have to walk through sand in the middle of the river. There were only two rupees per head for traveling. As in rainy seasons, it is much difficult to travel. The water level in the river will hike up to 40% more than the summer season. Sand in the middle of the river will be covered with water. Boat is fixed with an engine, as in earlier it was paddling. The minimum number of people can travel in a canoe is up to 15-20, but it was more dangerous to take more than twenty peoples. Later, they started to take the vehicle (Two-wheeler) in the boat. Later two canoes were tightly getting built together, for more safe and comfortable traveling. Today, Kadavu is there without the canoe.
